Lorenz Gido
Bio
Lorenz Gido is a Filipino, Orange County-based writer, director, actor, and voiceover artist from Oxnard, California. He grew up with an interest for all things creative, including books, music, movies, television, and themed entertainment. This excitement for the arts inspired Lorenz to pursue an Associate's Degree in Arts and Humanities from Oxnard College in 2020, as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Drama from the University of California, Irvine in 2022.
As a performer, Lorenz has taken great pride in participating in short films such as Race to Romance and original plays, including Where's Teddy? and Around the Traffic Circle. Lorenz was also a proud member of Shrödinger's Cast, UC Irvine's first and only on-campus collective inspired by the work of Greg Allen and the Chicago Neo-futurists, performing in 30 Plays in 60 Minutes twice every quarter.
In his final quarter at UCI, Lorenz wrote an original play titled Destiny's Date, a deconstruction of a romantic comedy where the apocalypse hinges on a young man's crush on his schoolmate. The play received its first staged reading on the UCI campus in 2022, followed by a staged reading performed by the Lyric Repertory Theatre Company in Utah as part of their interACT series for their summer 2024 season.
Lorenz is currently developing A Night in the Mansion, a full-length animatic based on a speculative script inspired by Disney's classic Haunted Mansion attraction. Other goals include mounting a full production of Destiny's Date, as well as the creation of more unique scripted work across different mediums.
When he's not creating or consuming art, Lorenz's favorite pastimes include exploring new cities, revisiting favorite theme parks, building LEGO models, and pretending to be funny.
